Too slow for a slow starter… Captain Oh Jae-il’s sluggish performance is questionable

The sluggishness of Samsung captain Oh Jae-il (37) is getting longer.

As of the 20th, Oh Jae-il is recording a batting average of 0.167, 4 home runs and 20 RBIs in 35 games of the season. He has the lowest batting average among players with 20 or more games on the team.

After graduating from Yatap High School, Oh Jae-il, who joined Hyundai in 2005 in the 24th round of the 2nd round, recorded a batting average in the 10% range only in 2009 and 2010, the early days of his first team debut.

Oh Jae-il is a typical ‘slow starter’. Looking at his performance from 2009, when he started on the first team stage in earnest, to last season, he was weakest in March and April. He had his personal career average of 0.148 in March and just 0.240 in April.

The problem this year is that the sluggishness at the beginning of the season is prolonged.

Oh Jae-il, who recorded a batting average of 0.193 in 24 games during the month of April, is recording a batting average of 0.108 in 11 games in May.

He has recently gone down in his batting order as well. In the match against KIA held at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 17th, he was placed in the 8th batting order. It is an unfamiliar position for Oh Jae-il, who has been named in the center lineup all the time.

On the 19th, against Changwon NC, he returned to batting order 5 times, but ended up with no hits in 4 at-bats, and the next day went down to No. 7 again in the NC game and bowed his head with 2 at-bats and no hits.

Samsung coach Park Jin-man is well aware of Oh Jae-il’s tendency to be a slow starter. Director Park Jin-man said of him, “Since he has been doing that for nearly 20 years, he seems to be stressed about it himself. He defended himself, saying, “I don’t think there are any big technical problems, but there seems to be a burden.”

Manager Park said, “I think I need to support him until the feeling of hitting rises.” He has to wait according to the circumstances. When it’s important, Oh Jae-il is doing it one by one. I think that Jae-il Oh will be doing well by himself in order to show that kind of appearance.”

Oh Jae-il did well in his team’s intense training ahead of this season. Before the season opener, he used to say, “We can’t do it,” even at Media Day.토스카지노

Samsung’s team batting average is 0.250, which is 8th out of 10 clubs. In June, Samsung will be able to recover its strength as the injured will return one after another. Samsung can rebound only when Oh Jae-il finds his sense of hitting before the end of May.
