‘Second trade’ Choi Ji-sun, “I’m nervous, but I think I have to do well”

“I’m still nervous, but I think I have to do well.”

Choi Ji-seon (175cm, F), who graduated from Onyang Girls’ High School, was selected by Incheon Shinhan Bank in the 5th place in the 1st round of the 2018-2019 WKBL New Player Selection.

He played for two years at Shinhan Bank, but did not receive many opportunities. He only appeared in 12 games over two years. He also played no more than 4 minutes on average.

He only showed up in the Futures League or the Park Shin-ja Cup. He participated in the 3rd Triple Jam competition in 2020 and led Shinhan Bank to runner-up. Choi Ji-sun, who spent two seasons at Shinhan Bank, was traded to Cheongju KB after the end of the 2021-2022 season. However, he did not receive many opportunities even as a member of KB, and was traded to Bucheon Hana OneQ this off-season.

Choi Ji-seon, who joined Hana 1Q, said, “I came to a new environment. A lot has changed. I also want to change more in it. There are many things I haven’t been able to show in the past, but I want to show more of myself as I start anew.”

“There are many things I need to improve on. I want to improve my defense and breakthrough. The shot seems to go in to some extent. If I supplement my defense and breakthrough, I think I will be able to receive more opportunities,” he said along with his plan.

He continued, “I want to grow not only in basketball, but also outside. The coach gave me a lot of confidence. We haven’t talked a lot yet, but he said, ‘I can give you a chance, so be confident until the end’. It really helped me a lot. And I want to become a player who is like an older sister to my juniors.”

Choi Ji-seon, who joined Hana 1 Q, went straight into team training. When asked about training, he said, “It’s really hard. (Laughter) I left the familiar training ground and went to a new place. Training times were also different. The exercise style was also different. So it was really difficult.”

He continued, “At KB, we focused on defense training and also practiced running. I trained mainly on the big muscles there. But here, I’m using muscles that I didn’t use. I feel like I am using my body a lot. That seems difficult,” he explained the difference.크크크벳

This was not the first time Choi Ji-seon transferred. So Choi Ji-sun said, “Actually, it was a little difficult after the last trade. I was really stressed out. But this is the second time. I’m still nervous, but I think I have to do well. I want to adapt quickly and help the team.”

“The newly joined team members take care of me so well. Really thankful. It is a process of adaptation now, and I am adapting without any problems.”

Lastly, Choi Ji-sun said, “I didn’t play very well at KB. But the fans supported me too. I don’t think I’ll ever forget it,” he said after expressing his affection for KB fans. I hope that the existing fans and Hana One Q fans will support us a lot,” ending the interview.
