‘Overcome hyperthyroidism’ Kim Yong-tae, wins 3 Srixon tours

Kim Yong-tae (24, Srixon) won the 2023 KPGA Srixon Tour 3rd tournament (total prize money 80 million won, championship prize money 16 million won).

Kim Yong-tae reduced one stroke in the second round on the last day of the tournament held at the Gunsan CC Jeonju-Iksan course (par 71, 7143 yards) in Gunsan, Jeonbuk on the 11th. Kim Yong-tae, who recorded a final total of 7 under par 135 strokes, broke the pursuit of Park Bae-jong (37, Hana Financial Group) and Kim Su-gyeom (27) in a tie for second place by one stroke and took the top spot.

Kim Yong-tae was an amateur strongman who served as a member of the National Standing Army in 2012 and as a member of the national team in 2015. Lee Jae-kyung (24, CJ OnStyle) and Yun Seong-ho (27, Woori Financial Group), who are currently active on the KPGA Korean Tour, are national teammates.

Kim Yong-tae said, “I am very happy that I received it in front of my father, who visited the venue for cheering after a long time.” I will do my best to do my best in silence. I want to become an icon of hope for people suffering from the same disease.”

The previous Srixon Tour 1st and 2nd competitions were won by amateur national representatives Jang Yoo-bin (21) and Jo Woo-young (22, Woori Financial Group), respectively.
