Hwang Seon-woo set a new Korean record and Asian record by scoring his first swim in the men’s 800m relay at the 2022 Short Course World Championships held in Melbourne, Australia on the 16th and scoring the goal in 1:40:99. It was 0.04 seconds faster than the previous Asian record (1:41:03) set by Park Tae-hwan when he won the 200m freestyle at the 2016 Short Course World Championships. In relay events, the time of the first swimmer is recognized as the individual record. 메이저놀이터

Korea, where Hwang Seon-woo, Kim Woo-min, Yang Jae-hoon (above Gangwon Provincial Office) and Lee Ho-jun (Daegu Metropolitan City Hall) worked together, set a Korean record (6:55:24) in the preliminaries held this morning, and in the afternoon finals, thanks to Hwang Seon-woo’s reverse performance, Korea won the 6th. Korea had the best performance ever in this event, but failed to win its first ever prize, remaining in 4th place, 0.04 seconds behind 3rd place Italy (6:49:63). The United States took first place with a world record of 6:44:12 (previously 6:46:81, Brazil), followed by Australia (6:46:54).

Hwang Seon-woo will compete in the 200m freestyle on the 18th.
